This Service is a storytelling tool designed for use by parents, legal guardians, and adults (13+). It is not intended for use directly by children under the age of 13 without parental supervision. We do not knowingly solicit or collect data directly from children. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has provided us with Personal Data without your consent, please contact us so we can take necessary actions.

 

3. Information We Collect

A. Personal Data Provided by You When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email Address: Used for account authentication and recovery.

  • User Content (Prompts): The text inputs (character names, themes, story ideas) you provide to generate stories.

  • Generated Content: The stories, images, and audio generated by the AI based on your prompts.

  • Usage Data: We may collect anonymous data on how the app is used (e.g., favorite art styles, story length preferences) to improve our models.

C. Payment Data We do not collect, process, or store your financial information or credit card details. All subscriptions and in-app purchases are handled securely by third-party payment processors (the Apple App Store or Google Play Store). Your interactions with these payment services are governed by their respective privacy policies and terms of service.

 

4. How We Use Your Information

  1. Provide the Service: Authenticate you and store your generated library.

  2. Generate Content: Your prompts are sent to third-party AI providers (Google Gemini & ElevenLabs) to create text, images, and audio.

  3. Improve the App: Analyze usage trends to refine our prompt engineering and features.

 

5. Disclosure of Your Information (Third-Party Service Providers)

We share your input data with the following third-party services to function. These providers have their own privacy policies:

  • Google Cloud & Firebase (USA):

    • Purpose: Authentication, Database (Firestore), and File Storage.

    • Note: Your generated images and audio are stored in Google Cloud Storage buckets.

  • Google Gemini AI:

    • Purpose: To generate the story text and image descriptions.

    • Data: Your text prompts are processed by Google's AI models.

  • ElevenLabs:

    • Purpose: To generate audio narration.

    • Data: The text of the story is sent to ElevenLabs to create audio files.

  • International Data Transfers:

    • ​We remain responsible for the personal information under our control, including data transferred to third-party service providers. As our third-party service providers (such as Google and ElevenLabs) operate globally, your personal information may be stored or processed on servers located outside of Canada, including in the United States. While your data is in another jurisdiction, it may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities of that jurisdiction in accordance with their local laws. We ensure that our service providers maintain a level of protection for your data that is comparable to our own standards and Canadian law.

 

6. User Generated Content & Public Visibility

To deliver the Service efficiently, generated media assets (images and audio files) are stored in cloud storage containers that may be publicly accessible via a direct URL.

  • Advisory: Please do not include private, sensitive, or personally identifying information (such as real full names, home addresses, or photos of real people) in your story prompts.

  • We cannot guarantee that a URL to a generated image or audio file will remain private if that URL is shared.

 

7. Children's Privacy

Our Service is directed to parents and guardians for use with children. We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under the age of 13 without prior parental consent. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information from our servers.

 

8. Your Data Rights

Depending on your location (including Canada, the EEA, and the UK), you may have specific rights regarding your Personal Data:

  • Right to Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures (including Firebase Security Rules) to help protect your personal information. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

 

11. Jurisdiction

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada.

Terms of Service & End User License Agreement​

1. Introduction and Agreement

These Terms of Service & End User License Agreement ("Terms") constitute a binding legal agreement between Dot Backslash Code Inc. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), a corporation registered in Alberta, Canada, and you ("User," "you," or "End User"). Dot Backslash Code Inc. is the owner and operator of the DreamBeam Tales mobile application and its associated website and services (collectively, the "Service").

BY DOWNLOADING, INSTALLING, OR USING THE SERVICE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT USE THE SERVICE.

 

2. Age Requirement & Account Eligibility

  • Target Audience: The Service is an AI-powered storytelling tool intended for use by parents, guardians, and adults (13+).

  • Account Holders: You must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account and agree to these Terms. If you are a minor over the age of 13, you may only use the Service with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.

  • Children Under 13: The Service is not intended for independent use by children under 13. We do not knowingly permit children under 13 to create accounts.

 

3. The Nature of AI Services

The Service utilizes artificial intelligence (including Google Gemini and ElevenLabs) to generate text, images, and audio ("AI Content"). By using the Service, you acknowledge and accept the following:

  • Unpredictability: AI models are probabilistic. The Service may generate content that is inaccurate, nonsensical, or different from what you expected.

  • No Guarantee of Uniqueness: The AI may generate the same or similar stories for other users who provide similar prompts.

  • Suitability: While we employ safety filters, AI may occasionally generate content that is inappropriate or offensive. You agree to review all AI Content before sharing it or reading it to children. The Company is not liable for the specific content generated by the AI models.

 

4. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Company grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, revocable, and non-transferable license to:​

  1. Download and install the Application on a device owned or controlled by you.

  2. Access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use (i.e., reading stories to your family).

 

5. Intellectual Property & User Content

  • Your Prompts: You retain ownership of the text prompts you input into the Service. You grant the Company a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use these prompts to operate, improve, and debug the Service.

  • Generated Content (Stories/Images): As between you and the Company, you own the specific stories, images, and audio generated by your prompts for your personal use.

  • Company Rights: "DreamBeam Tales," the DreamBeam Tales logo, and all associated software, code, and design are the intellectual property of Dot Backslash Code Inc. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by the Company.

 

6. Code of Conduct (Prohibited Uses)

To ensure a safe environment, you agree NOT to use the Service to:​

  1. Generate Harmful Content: Create stories involving sexual violence, non-consensual sexual content, hate speech, self-harm, real-world violence, or illegal acts.

  2. Deepfakes: Attempt to generate images or stories depicting real people, public figures, or celebrities without consent.

  3. Bypass Safety Filters: Attempt to "jailbreak," reverse engineer, or trick the AI into generating blocked content.

  4. Commercial Exploitation: Sell, rent, or lease access to the Service or the Generated Content without our written consent.

  5. Data Mining: Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the Service or extract data.

Violation of this Code of Conduct will result in immediate account termination without refund.

 

7. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers (Google Cloud, Firebase, ElevenLabs). Your use of the Service is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of these providers. We are not responsible for service interruptions caused by these third parties.

 

8. Disclaimers of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY ALBERTA LAW, THE COMPANY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

 

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DOT BACKSLASH CODE INC. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO THE COMPANY (IF ANY) IN THE SIX (6) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

 

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dot Backslash Code Inc. and its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) the content of any prompts you submit or stories you generate.

 

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Calgary, Alberta.

 

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or via email. Continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Welcome to DreamBeam Tales!

Our mission is to spark creativity, imagination, and wonder for families. To keep this platform safe, constructive, and fun for everyone, Dot Backslash Code Inc. ('the Company') has established this Code of Conduct for the DreamBeam Tales service. These guidelines apply to every story, prompt, and interaction you have with our Service.

1. Zero Tolerance for Harmful Content

Because our app is used to create stories for children, we enforce a strict Zero Tolerance Policy for the following content. Attempting to generate these will result in an immediate and permanent ban:

  • Child Endangerment: Any content that depicts, promotes, or normalizes the abuse, exploitation, or sexualization of minors.

  • Violence & Gore: Graphic depictions of violence, torture, self-harm, or cruelty.

  • Hate Speech: Content that promotes violence, discrimination, or hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, age, or sexual orientation.

  • Sexual Content: Pornographic or sexually explicit material of any kind.

 

2. Respect for Intellectual Property

DreamBeam Tales is designed to help you create new worlds, not copy existing ones.

  • Originality: Do not attempt to generate stories featuring copyrighted characters (e.g., Disney, Marvel, Nintendo) or trademarked franchises.

  • Filter Evasion: Our Service uses automated filters to block known IP. Attempting to bypass, trick, or "jailbreak" these filters to generate infringing content is a violation of this Code.

 

3. AI Ethics & Integrity

You agree to use our AI tools responsibly.

  • No "Jailbreaking" or Prompt Injection: You must not use "adversarial prompts" designed to trick the AI into ignoring its safety guidelines or generating prohibited content.

  • No Deepfakes: You may not use the Service to generate images, audio, or stories that depict real people, including public figures, celebrities, or private individuals (such as neighbors or teachers) without their explicit consent.

  • Truthfulness: Do not use the Service to generate misinformation, fake news, or content intended to deceive others.

 

4. System Security & Usage

  • No Bots: You may not use automated scripts, scrapers, or bots to access the Service or harvest content.

  • No Reverse Engineering: You may not attempt to decompile, decipher, or reverse engineer the software or the AI models provided by the Company via DreamBeam Tales.

  • Account Sharing: You are responsible for all activity on your account. Do not share your login credentials with others.

 

5. Reporting Violations

We encourage our community to help us maintain a safe environment.

  • If you encounter content or prompts that violate these guidelines, please report it immediately to support@dreambeamtales.com.

  • We review all reports within 24 hours and take appropriate action, ranging from content removal to permanent account termination.

 

6. Enforcement

Dot Backslash Code Inc. reserves the right to investigate any suspected violation of these guidelines. If we determine that you have violated this Code of Conduct, we may:

  • Remove the offending content.

  • Suspend your ability to generate new stories.

  • Permanently terminate your account without refund.

  • Report illegal content to law enforcement authorities.

These Community Guidelines are incorporated into and governed by the Dot Backslash Code Inc. Terms of Service.

Account & Data Deletion Policy

​

This policy describes how Dot Backslash Code Inc. ('the Company') handles requests to delete user accounts and associated data for the DreamBeam Tales service.​

​

If you wish to delete your DreamBeam Tales account and all associated data, you have two options:

Option 1: In-App Deletion

  1. Open the DreamBeam Tales app.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Tap "Delete Account".

  4. Confirm your choice. This will immediately mark your data for permanent deletion.

Option 2: Web Request (If you have uninstalled the app) Please send an email to support@dreambeamtales.com with the subject line "DELETE ACCOUNT".

  • Body of email: Please include the email address associated with your account.

  • Verification: We may ask for proof of ownership before processing.

  • Timeline: Once your identity is verified, we will permanently purge your account profile, email address, and all generated content (stories, images, and audio) from our servers within 30 days. Please note that once this action is performed, data cannot be recovered.

​Intellectual Property & DMCA Policy

 

Dot Backslash Code Inc. respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with applicable intellectual property laws, including the Copyright Act (Canada) and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). We expect our users to do the same.

Reporting Copyright Infringement if you believe that content generated or hosted on DreamBeam Tales infringes your copyright, please notify our Designated Copyright Agent immediately by emailing support@dreambeamtales.com with the following information:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.

  2. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing (e.g., the story ID or URL).

  3. Your contact information (email, address, phone number).

  4. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized.

  5. A statement that the information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

Upon receipt of a valid notice, the Company will remove or disable access to the infringing material and may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
